Axtell house was imagined as a compressed New York skyscraper. Our aim was to bring the grandeur of Regents street to this small tucked away site, on a side street off Regents street. The new addition of three storeys sought to compliment the architecture of the existing building, without overpowering the host, through careful detailing and extracted motif.
Texture and materials play a big role in what we do at Dmba.
They can tell a story, evoke a memory, or simply allow the public to connect with our projects.
The more ways we find to increase connections with our projects, the more successfully our buildings knit into their surrounding and eventually feel like they have always been there.
Axtell House successfully delivered a substantial uplift in office accommodation, in conjunction with a comprehensive refurbishment.
We always love talking about architecture and what makes it great.
